We spent the last weekend in Wine Country at Grandma and Grandpa’s house again, and most of the time I could be found curled up on my favorite couch. But mom made the couch even more snuggly by wrapping a warm blanket (fresh from the dryer) around me. Pure kitty bliss! I fell right asleep and stayed in that spot until the sun went down.
I’m a little shadow – wherever mom and dad go in the house, I have to follow them around. So naturally, when they’re cooking dinner I’m right there beside them (usually on the counter). Yesterday I was helping them by watching over the tomatoes and making sure they didn’t roll away – a very important job in the kitchen. I don’t know what they’d do without my help!
First of all, thanks so much to all of my human and animal friends that wished me a happy birthday! I wish I could have celebrated with all of you! Now I have to catch up on a little R&R after all of that partying. This calls for a little cat nap, don’t ya think?
I like to sit and watch mom do her makeup in the mornings. Sometimes I even try to help by picking out brushes for her (by hitting them out of the bag and onto the floor), but she doesn’t seem to appreciate it that much. She takes so long though I usually end up falling asleep in the makeup bag.
We have a heat wave fast-approaching us in SF, and since we don’t have air conditioning, mom has been searching for a fun way to keep me cool and hydrated (though us cats love warm weather, but I appreciate the sentiment). She saw this video over on Cute Overload of cats licking a giant ice cube (made by freezing a water balloon), and started thinking of how she could recreate the ice sphere for me on a smaller scale. Then she remembered dad has these sphere ice molds for his whiskey that will make 2.5″ balls – purrrrrfect!! She’s going to freeze some tonight and try it out, we’ll be sure to take pics and let you know how it goes! Do any of my other cat furriends like ice treats? What do you guys do to make them?
No matter how old you get, there’s always the one favorite stuffed animal you can never get rid of. I’ve had Lambie since my parents brought me home at 2 months old, and she’s still my top choice for nap time snuggles. She might be a little dirty now (okay, a LOT dirty), and the fur is all matted, but I love her and carry her around everywhere with me. Look how clean she used to be back in the day! Do you have a favorite stuffed animal or snuggle toy?
…the spot where I shall lay my head and go to sleep. Mom doesn’t understand how this could possibly be comfortable, but I just like to get a good yoga stretch in while I sleep – two birds with one stone. Ooh birds, maybe I should go watch them instead of sleeping. Nah, sleepy town here I come! zzzzz
Some more chair pictures to share from over the weekend! This chair in particular is my favorite spot to sleep in because it faces the window so I can watch the birds fly by as I lounge (and soak up the sun). But best of all it’s super cozy and away from the main living area of the house, so I can get some peaceful napping in.
This weekend was spent in wine country at Grandma and Grandpa’s house to celebrate Father’s Day and my other Grandma’s birthday (I love seeing ALL my family in one place!). I’m always so relaxed at their house, and enjoyed lounging around in various chairs and spots of sunlight. Sometimes I tried to join them in the breakfast nook for meals, as seen here. Where’s my food?
Hmm, no food for me? Guess I’ll just have to chew on this chair nom nom nom.
Sometimes a guy is just too tired to hold his own head up while sleeping. Luckily mom likes to use a little pillow on her lap when she’s working on her laptop, so I take advantage of a corner to prop up my head. And as a bonus, sometimes she’ll give me nice chin scratches too.
