We spent the last weekend in Wine Country at Grandma and Grandpa’s house again, and most of the time I could be found curled up on my favorite couch. But mom made the couch even more snuggly by wrapping a warm blanket (fresh from the dryer) around me. Pure kitty bliss! I fell right asleep and stayed in that spot until the sun went down.
…the spot where I shall lay my head and go to sleep. Mom doesn’t understand how this could possibly be comfortable, but I just like to get a good yoga stretch in while I sleep – two birds with one stone. Ooh birds, maybe I should go watch them instead of sleeping. Nah, sleepy town here I come! zzzzz
I enjoyed sunbathing so much yesterday that I decided to bring you part 2 today, that I’ve titled “Sunbathing on the Windowsill Behind the Couch.” There’s a perfect little ledge that gets direct sun, yet is hidden from everyone else in the house since it sits lower than the back of the couch…well, hidden from everyone except mom who always manages to find me with her camera!
Yawn…last night I was cuddled up on mom’s lap on my favorite blanket and went into a deep, deep sleep. The kind where your face squishes into the blanket and you don’t even care. I even started getting whisker and arm twitches – I was probably dreaming about chasing birds. I had so much fun sleeping last night that I’ll probably do that all day again today.
For me, the weekend is all about catching up on my sleep. Well who am I kidding, most of my life is about sleeping, but the weekend is a great excuse for even more cat napping. Mom caught me in the “sleep zone,” falling deeper and deeper into kitty REM sleep to the point of twitching whiskers and paws.
Building upon yesterday’s post about places I like to sleep, I would like to discuss another favorite, my donut. At least that’s what we call it, not sure if it has a proper name (Ed note: it does, Puffy Round Cat Bed). It sits on a table in our bay window, and provides the perfect napping and lookout spot.
At first I wouldn’t sleep in it because it was naked, just sitting there. I mean, would you sleep on a mattress with no sheets? But luckily mom got the hint and lays out towels on it, making it one of my favorite spots.
