Daily Dose of Dapper: Warm Fuzzies

Tux in blanket

We spent the last weekend in Wine Country at Grandma and Grandpa’s house again, and most of the time I could be found curled up on my favorite couch. But mom made the couch even more snuggly by wrapping a warm blanket (fresh from the dryer) around me. Pure kitty bliss! I fell right asleep and stayed in that spot until the sun went down.

Cat Lady Covets: Cat Crepe Blouse

H&M cat blouse

I love a good cat shirt, and this one grabbed my attention for its cool color combo and low price (only $15!). The breezy crepe fabric makes it easy to wear right now while it’s warm outside, and also dresses it up a bit (not your basic cotton top). There’s even a little chest pocket that would be perfect for storing extra kitty treats.

Daily Dose of Dapper: Sous Chef

Tux cooking

I’m a little shadow – wherever mom and dad go in the house, I have to follow them around. So naturally, when they’re cooking dinner I’m right there beside them (usually on the counter). Yesterday I was helping them by watching over the tomatoes and making sure they didn’t roll away – a very important job in the kitchen. I don’t know what they’d do without my help!

Tux Tuesday: Testing the Water

Ice mold

Tuna broth flavored ice water, to be exact. Do you remember the post I did a couple of weeks ago with the video of those little kitties licking the ice ball (click here for a reminder)? Well, we had another heat wave come through San Francisco this past weekend and decided to try it out! Mom froze some of my favorite broth treat (for flavor) with some water in these cool circular ice molds. She let it sit overnight in the freezer, and then next day popped it out into a little bowl to catch the water while it melted. Well…it was a nice thought, but just didn’t interest me. I wandered over, sniffed it and batted at it a couple of times, gave it a couple of licks, and then lost interest. She left it out for an hour to see if I wandered back over, but I just wasn’t into it. Maybe it needed more flavoring? Maybe I would have been more interested if it was in a different bowl? Who knows, but it was a valiant effort on moms part. Has anyone else tried this?

Daily Dose of Dapper: R&R

Tux napping

First of all, thanks so much to all of my human and animal friends that wished me a happy birthday! I wish I could have celebrated with all of you! Now I have to catch up on a little R&R after all of that partying. This calls for a little cat nap, don’t ya think?

Tux Turns Two!

Tux birthday

It’s true friends, on Saturday I officially entered the terrible twos! I celebrated with a bowl of my favorite moist food and by immediately tearing apart my birthday present (a new scratching post – see photo evidence). It was a great day that also included lots of mommy cuddles and nap time – I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday!

Cat Lady Covets: Kitty Kitchen Timer

Kitty Kitchen Timer

There always seem to be occasions where I need to time things in the kitchen and I automatically reach for my phone to set a timer. But this little kitty timer would do the job just as easily and also look very cute sitting on the counter. What a purrfect little kitchen gadget!

*FASHION ALERT! This adorable and sophisticated top I blogged about awhile ago is ON SALE now!! I mean, I think there’s no excuse not to get it now, right?!

Daily Dose of Dapper: Makeup Assistant

Tux makeup

I like to sit and watch mom do her makeup in the mornings. Sometimes I even try to help by picking out brushes for her (by hitting them out of the bag and onto the floor), but she doesn’t seem to appreciate it that much. She takes so long though I usually end up falling asleep in the makeup bag.

Cat Lady Covets: Cat Trinket Dishes

cat chopstick rest plates 2

So technically these are called Chopstick Rest Plates in their online store, but I really think these charming ceramic cat dishes could be used for almost anything. They’re perfect for holding tiny treats, resting a spoon or tea bag, as a ring dish…even as a small dish for your cat’s moist food. There are two styles – Calico cat or Striped cat (shown below) and retail for $12 each. What would you use them for?

Tux Tuesday: Cold Treat for Cats

set-of-2-sphere-ice-moldsWe have a heat wave fast-approaching us in SF, and since we don’t have air conditioning, mom has been searching for a fun way to keep me cool and hydrated (though us cats love warm weather, but I appreciate the sentiment). She saw this video over on Cute Overload of cats licking a giant ice cube (made by freezing a water balloon), and started thinking of how she could recreate the ice sphere for me on a smaller scale. Then she remembered dad has these sphere ice molds for his whiskey that will make 2.5″ balls – purrrrrfect!! She’s going to freeze some tonight and try it out, we’ll be sure to take pics and let you know how it goes! Do any of my other cat furriends like ice treats? What do you guys do to make them?
